Sentinel Dual Marine (SMU): DNV-certified UPS for vessels
Sentinel Dual Marine is the maritime version of the Sentinel Dual series from Riello. The UPS is built on the same platform as the SDU and is type approved by DNV according to DNV-CG-0339 (July 2025) for installation on board vessels classed by DNV.
The series delivers clean and stable power to critical systems on board. Typical applications are automation, instrumentation, IT and control systems.
DNV Type Approval
Sentinel Dual Marine holds DNV Type Approval according to DNV-CG-0339 with certificate number TAE00004YU.

The Type Approval requires installation with the corresponding DNV-approved anti-vibration frames for floor installation. For rack installation, the rack cabinet must have its own vibration damping system in accordance with applicable requirements.

The series consists of three single-phase models, all with power factor 1:

- EnergyShare sockets that prioritise the most important loads during a power failure.
- Advanced communication: USB, RS-232 and slot for optional cards (SNMP, Modbus etc.).
- External maintenance bypass, backfeed protection and fully DSP-controlled electronics.
Battery cabinets
Dedicated battery cabinets in the same design and size (3U) provide extended runtime. The hot-swap functionality applies to the entire cabinet.
